Changes to the Board
Departing as a Member of the Authority is Doug Tilley, a Public Interest Representative from St. John’s NL. Mr. Tilley was appointed to the Board on April 13, 2005, and made many contributions, particularly as chair of the Governance and Regulation Committee.
Mr. Tilley was replaced as a Public Interest Representative by Alisa Aymar effective September 5th, 2008. Ms. Aymar is a Certified General Accountant and a Financial Services Manager at Comeau’s Sea Foods Ltd. in Saulnierville, NS.
Pilotage & Other Charges
The Pilotage Act requires that pilotage tariffs be fixed at a level that permits the Authority to operate on a self-sustaining financial basis, and that the tariffs set be fair and reasonable. The goal is to have each area become financially self-sufficient to eliminate cross-subsidization among ports.
